Our Back to School Brunch was the inaugural event for End Girl Hate Canada’s little ladies, and we are so thrilled to start this incredible work with such an amazing group of little ladies!
We had eight girls show up for the brunch held at the Thornhill Golf & Country Club on September 16 (along with their mothers), and we had the loveliest day! The girls introduced themselves, making sure to include what they thought was amazing about themselves (that’s the EGH way!), we discussed future events and plans for this group, what the girls want to see and what conversations their mothers thought were important to start having at this age, and finished up with the girls writing compliment cards to each other as we begin to foster a sisterhood where they’re taught to support and uplift each other and receive that same positive energy in return.
Some of our favourite cards + conversations overheard at this event:
“I think your shoes are really cute!” (They were.)
“I love your curly hair!”
“This place is so ROYAL! It really makes you feel like a girl when you come to things like this. When I grow up, I want to be like my mom and make so much money so I can do things like this with my friends all the time!”
Our hearts are bursting! Thank you so much to all of the mothers who took the time out of their busy schedules to bring their girls out to our first event. Here’s to many more to come!
