Waterparks & Dolphins with my Bahamas Baby, Nassau

I had a quick meeting in Nassau and decided to turn it into an early birthday trip for my son, who turns five in a couple of weeks. Our stay at the Atlantis was such a great way to celebrate a little early and build some great memories in the process.

At the request of my little prince, we spent most of our days at the waterpark, his absolute favourite part of the whole resort. With endless pools and slides, an entire jungle gym built in a wading pool and a wild rapids river that could go tubing in, he was in his element.

The food was great too. I kept things easy and just signed up for the Atlantis Dining Plan, which was totally worth it. We got to eat three course meals at our choice of 16 different restaurants, including Olives, with celebrity chef Todd English. Little man’s favourite was the cove, since the tables were set in front of huge aquariums.

The resort also has the really awesome program that was right up my son’s alley called Sea Squirts. For an extra fee of course, they outfitted him in his own special shirt and took him behind the scenes to learn and help with the different forms of marine life. He got to feed and hold turtles, fish, stingrays, and something called a sea cucumber? (It was furry and green and slimy looking and not at all how I like my cucumbers!) He even got to feed baby sharks! The luckiest boy.

The best part of the whole trip for me was the dolphin interaction at Dolphin Cay! We bought our tickets and got outfitted in our super sexy wet suits and got to play and interact with their dolphins up close!

Between the short flight, the superior service, the breathtaking scenery, and the amazing company, I’m going to go ahead and call it. BEST WORK TRIP EVER!
